By far, the greatest romance story ever told is found in the Bible. It’s a story of love, redemption, and the faithfulness of our Creator. Let me share some of it with you…
1. The Bible says,
“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” -Romans 3:23.
This means, we’ve all done wrong against God.
2. It also states, we owe a consequence for the wrong we’ve done.
“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” –Isaiah 59:2
3. The Bible says our consequence has been paid.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” –Romans 5:8
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”— John 3:16
4. We can’t receive a pardon on our own, but Jesus offered it to us freely through His death. Nothing we do earns our rescue. It’s a gift of love!
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”— Romans 6:23
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”–Ephesians 2:8
5. We may accept this free gift or reject it.
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”–Romans 10:9
“Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent.”–Acts 17:30
God loves us. He wants us to love Him. We sometimes express our love to Him and sorrow for wrong through prayer. Prayer doesn’t save us, but it is an avenue by which we often talk with God. Tell Him you want to accept His gift. Afterwards, dig into the Bible. Get involved at church. Again, it won’t save you or win you favor with God, but it is a way you can express this profound love!
