The Stall (Part 3)

Life is bigger than “the stall” to our hopes and dreams. Sometimes, in the moment, it’s easy to forget, but don’t let disappointment cloud your vision.

1.) A life for God is never wasted. You can choose to pursue a dream that may or may not come to fruition, or you can pursue the God that controls your destiny.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Colossians 3:23-24

2.) Dreams stall. Plans fade. God never changes. Take your plans and desires before Him.

The mind of man plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

3.) A life given becomes a life with purpose. Offer God everything. Ask Him to fulfill your desires or change them according to His will. Find satisfaction in His answer.

Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:4

Contentment comes when we place our dreams at Jesus’ feet. Sometimes we must willingly let God transform the desires of our heart. In our waiting, we often place whatever we’re hoping for above our relationship with God. Always place Him first. The stalls we experience in life can cause pain, but thankfully, we have a God that knows our deepest longings.

Jesus cried on more than one occasion in Scripture. When we understand God’s character, His heart, I think we can truly surrender our dreams. He is not indifferent to us. So, in your waiting…and in mine…let’s trust that God can build dreams far better than our own…
