Some of the authors attending ACFW write a pre-conference blog. I thought it would help you learn more about me. We’ll continue in our writing series next week, but for today, here’s a fun post for you.
Visit Laurie Tomlinson‘s website for the original blog.
Name: Kailee Diaz
Location: Northwest Ohio
What you write/tagline/trademark: Christian Historical-Romance (mostly late 18th-early 19th century) / “Stories of faith and love from the past”
Place in the book world: I have a completed manuscript polished and ready to seek agency representation. Each Wednesday, I also post a novel chapter on this blog from a different manuscript.
On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: I’m reserved in a crowd, but I’ll offer a hug if needed.
Something VERY serious: How do you take your Starbucks? Hmm…well, I can’t always handle the caffeine, so usually I’ll get a decaf cafe vanilla latte. Yes, I know…you’re wondering why I even drink coffee if it’s decaffeinated. No worries, I wrestle with the same question.
The unique talking points that will get you going for hours: God, family, history, travel, horses, Broncos football
Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My husband gets to travel with me this year…yay! Otherwise, I’ll miss my niece and nephews. They grow so fast. We also have to leave behind our dog, Deke.
Conference goals we can pray for? Pray for contentment in God’s plans. He may take me where He wills, and I need to trust Him with my heart’s desires.
Pray for open doors. During the conference, I’ll present my novel to agents.
Lastly, pray for wisdom and direction. I hope to receive feedback and godly advice from this trip.
Anything we can celebrate with you? A folder sits before me with papers for ACFW. I have business cards ready and new outfits!
One or two ways we can help you build your platform? You can like my author page on Facebook and visit my website throughout the week!
