Life, Worry, Stress (Part 1)

people

I’m glad you’ve joined us for Part 1 of our 3 week series, Life, Worry, Stress. We live in an upside down world. From worries about work on Monday to politics and elections, our lives have plenty to stress over. Doubts cause our stomach to experience that churning, nauseating feeling far too often, and yet, God commands us not to worry.

I can almost hear your heart-rate increase…but alas, my good friend, there’s reason for such a command. Let’s read it in His words:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

God desires conversation over our fears. He orders us not to worry, because we can trust Him. God longs for us to come with our worries, and what’s more, He promises peace. Can you imagine if the stress disappeared from your life?

We don’t have control of the situations we face, and God doesn’t promise we won’t encounter such moments. But He promises peace when we come to Him. So what fear has you paralyzed today? What have you worried over even on a subconscious level?

Make your request known to Him, and allow God to replace your worries with peace.

  1. All Jesus has to do is say the word and the storms subside. I find God’s words in my life bring peace, hence I try to keep a good store of them in my soul. Bringing your cares to His attention makes you come to Him and there’s no better place to be when it comes to hearing what He has to say. It a win win in my estimation.
