Writers know the feeling all too well. It’s the moment when someone says, “What do you do for a living?”. You may say something like, “I’m an author” or “I write”. The individual’s face usually shows a certain level of skepticism, but deep down, you know this is your career.
I don’t believe writing should be pursued lightly. We should put forth our best effort and do the hard work our career entails. This is a concept I’ve tangled with often, rearranging my schedule and choosing not to waste my days. I also began actively pursuing a career in the industry.
In addition, I worried about financial stability. For me personally, my husband lifted this burden off my shoulders. He reminded me he supported my journey, and this continues to be huge.
As a result, I’m able to smile at the skeptics. Perseverance does pay off, and I’m learning from fellow writers. It’s something neat about this industry we’re in. Experienced writers mentor others. Lessons are passed on, and our journeys impact each other.
This week I will continue to write chapters for Whippercreek. Wednesday, the first chapter will be released here. In addition, I received feedback on my other manuscript. I’ll edit on Thursday and Friday. I hope you’ll check back throughout the week. Best wishes and lots of coffee this rainy Monday…
Praying for you Kailee!š
Thank you, I appreciate it so much and am very grateful for your encouragement.
