Lamentations 3:39-40a
“Why should any living mortal, or any man,
Offer complaint in view of his sins?
Let us examine and probe our ways.”
God is good to us. I know life sometimes can be trying. I know the temptation to complain to God about His faithfulness sometimes arises, but do not forget, our God, at great sacrifice to Himself, offered us salvation; therefore, perhaps it is not God’s ways we should be critically studying, rather, perhaps it is our own.
Are we living a life that reflects our indebtedness to Him? Don’t immediately answer “yes”. As the verse above suggests, probe, push, and prod your ways. Do they really honor Him? Consider every aspect in your life: the movies you watch, the relationship your in, the language you use, your attitude…does it reflect gratefulness to Him?
If not Lamentations 3:40b says,
“Let us return to the Lord.”
