A Fragile Drop of Rain

When was the last time God amazed you?  —He amazed me today.  He amazed me as the rain poured over our house–the thundering patter tapping against the roof, the skyline fogging over, and the cool tingle of the cold, wet drops hitting the earth. He amazed me with His goodness, His sovereignty, and His love.  All that in a tiny rain drop.

God knows where that drop of crystal clear water has traveled. He knows where it will go in the days to come. He knows how pleasing the sound of a storm is to me, and He knows just the reminder I needed today. That while one drop of rain is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, He still is in control and all-powerful even in this miniscule detail of life (Matthew 6:26 and 10:28-31). If He cares to govern over a fragile drop of rain, He certainly cares so much more about us. Giving our lives completely to Him is not throwing away reason and happiness, for He is far more capable to guide us through trials and give us the best in His timing and way, even during life’s storms (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
