You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,
And called from its remotest parts
And said to you, ‘You are My servant,
I have chosen you and not rejected you.
‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Thankful to have a sovereign God– all-powerful, righteous, and loving. If you have a real relationship with God, not on your terms, but on His– meaning you can’t do anything in and of yourself to have a relationship with Him; rather, only His son’s death on the cross offers you that relationship, if you so desire it–I hope you realize something extraordinary today.
One day amidst unnecessary anxiety, I complained to my dad. His response– You have nothing to fear. Don’t forget who you are in Christ. God has chosen you. He loves you. He owns everything you pass day to day. Even though some don’t desire a relationship with Him, He’s still their creator, essentially their owner. Don’t forget that. Everything you walked past is His, and furthermore, He is on your side. He fights for you. He–loves–you. That should change your day. It should make you more confident. It should erase those anxieties. Realize who He is and stop pondering on your worries. Give them to Him, for He is capable and trustworthy, and He has chosen you to be in relationship with Him.
