“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”–Abraham Lincoln
So you already know about my obsession with writing. It is one of my simple pleasures.
For some time now, I’ve been working on authoring a novel. It has been a work in progress, but as of several days ago the first version of the manuscript was finally completed. I’m so excited! I’ll be spending a lot of this summer revising and editing according to the suggestions of close family and friends.
My passion drives me to rush into the publishing industry without another revision. I’ve worked so long and so hard on this book that I’d like to just start submitting proposals; however, there’s a good quote by Benjamin Franklin that I think addresses my situation best.
“If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins.”–Benjamin Franklin
So for now I’ll hold onto those reins. In time, I’ll let go and feel the rush of the wind in my face, and when that day comes, you’ll be shopping in a bookstore and find my name there on the shelf.
